Commissioners provide important leadership to ensure quality Scouting
We need YOUR leadership experience to make a difference
 so become a commissioner today.

The commissioner service is looking for men and women
volunteers who would like to help Scouting by sharing
their knowledge and experiences with other Scouters.

Successful Scout units do not just happen. They are made.
They are made by leaders who are trained, coached, and
counseled along the way by those who went before. You
probably had someone help you as you learned how to be
a Scout leader so you know how important it is to have
guidance in developing a successful pack, troop, or team.
You have an opportunity to help other leaders be
successful by serving as a commissioner. By helping
leaders build strong units you will be insuring that the
values of Scouting are brought effectively to more youth.

"It is the mission of the Crosswinds District
Commissioner Service to help Scout units provide a
quality program for their members. In doing so the
values of Scouting will be brought to more youth more
 effectively."

Q: What does a commissioner do?
A: A commissioner provides direct coaching and counseling
of adult leaders to help ensure the success of scout units.

Q: How much time is required?
A: It will vary depending on how much help is needed. A
minimum of a monthly contact with a unit is expected.

 Q: I don't think I have enough experience. Don't you
need many years in Scouting to be a commissioner?
A: While some experience in Scouting is desirable you are
not expected to be a "super" Scouter with many years in the
program. A desire to help and strengthen Scouting is more
important. Training is provided, resource materials are
available and you will be coached by experienced
      commissioners.

Q: Will my own unit benefit if I am a commissioner?
A: Commissioners find that their training and contacts with
Scouters in other units help them learn more about
Scouting. The lessons learned through these experiences
help them provide an even better program in their own
       units.

We would like to offer more to our units at Roundtables, but we need to have a bigger staff to be able to make that a reality. If you can help, please contact the Roundtable ADC or the District Commissioner.
